Dharma Primary School

CEOP helps any child or young person under the age of 18 who is being pressured, forced or tricked into taking part in sexual activity of any kind. You can visit the CEOP Safety Centre for information and advice and make a report directly to CEOP.

Year 5 and 6 children are given opportunities and responsibilities which enable them to become role models in the school and to gain skills and confidence for their next steps. They run the school council– communicating with class representatives and senior staff on important issues in the school; attend a residential adventure trip; perform a summer play; and represent the school at community events.

At this age the children are able to reflect on meditation and mindfulness in more depth. Each morning begins with a Puja– a time dedicated to discussion, reflection and meditation. Morning activities can range from silent stillness to mindful movement to sharing feelings. The emphasis that the school places on mindful practices and Buddhist values helps the children to grow up –and ultimately move on to adolescence- as emotionally-aware and thoughtful individuals.
