Clare Eddison, Head Teacher
Clare took up post as Head Teacher in September 2015. She is a teacher with many years of experience and joined us from Shoreham Academy, where she was deeply involved in working with the well-being and creativity agenda for children at the school. A Cambridge graduate, she is committed to educational development, both personally and theoretically, and has a clear vision for educating the whole child. In addition to her excellent teaching skills, Clare is a practicing Buddhist and a long-term student of meditation, and served as a manager of Gaia House, a Buddhist retreat centre in Devon.
Clare’s dynamic and creative approach resonates with the Dharma Primary School’s ethos and aspirations: “My decision to apply for the headship came from a deep wish to integrate my love of learning with my Buddhist practice. I have a passion for creative education, one that incorporates the whole child, and with my previous experience I bring an instinctive approach to excellence in the craft of teaching.”
